APA Group can advise the following:
- Gas supply to the Coomera area has been restored following urgent network repair works that commenced on Wednesday afternoon.
- At approximately 2pm, APA repair crews commenced a program of safety checks at affected homes to ensure appliances are safely reconnected.
- On current estimates approximately 2,000 customers will be reconnected by tonight with the remaining 3,000 (approximate) customers reconnected by Friday night.
A reconnection plan (see below) that shows the approximate sequence in which the network will be reconnected and safety checks carried out has been developed. Please note this was based on the technical and safety requirements of the network.
It is anticipated most of Zone 1 and 2 will be completed by 10pm on Thursday 14 June, with the majority of the remainder being completed on Friday 15 June.
APA appreciates the delay in reconnection is frustrating for residents, but it is important that this process is conducted safely. We thank you in advance for your patience. Customers with urgent requirements are encouraged to call 1800 643 183 to discuss their situation.
APA received notification of a third-party damage incident in Coomera on Wednesday afternoon and despatched repair teams who visited more than 5,000 affected residences in the Gold Coast region by Wednesday night.
